It turns out it is very real indeed, at least that’s according to a report from MacRumors in which one of their readers, Daniel Marcinkowski, discovered a screenshot of an unreleased version of the Apple Watch’s Alarms app in it makes reference to the Sleep app. The caption in the screenshot reads, “Set your bedtime and wake up in the Sleep app.”
This is pretty much in line with what we had previously heard about the app, in which one of the rumored features is that it will be able to track the user’s sleep. It is said to even be able to detect if the user has woken up ahead of the alarm going off, meaning that it will turn the alarm off so that users won’t be bothered by it later.
We’re not sure why the feature was not announced at the iPhone event, but perhaps it isn’t ready for primetime just yet. Maybe it will come in a later update to watchOS, but for now, we know that it is there.
