Invites To Try Microsoft’s Project xCloud Are Now Rolling Out

Game streaming feels like it could be the next big thing. With our internet speeds getting faster, what with 5G now being rolled out, it makes sense that we should be able to game on our phones and on any device wherever we are. Microsoft will be trying their hand at game streaming with Project xCloud, and if you’re curious, you can actually now take it for a spin.

In a tweet by Xbox boss Phil Schiller, he has announced that the public preview of Project xCloud is now available. What this means is that if you’re interested in checking out the service, you can actually go ahead and request for an invite. Granted, it is not the full launch of Project xCloud yet, but it should give gamers an idea of what they can expect and to see if the concept of video game streaming is something they might be interested in.

At the moment, the public preview is only available to those living in the US, UK, and South Korea. The invites are going out as we speak, so if you have yet to receive yours, don’t worry as it should find its way to you eventually. It has also been pointed out that for the moment, the public preview is mostly for testing cloud-based gaming, as opposed to being able to stream games from your Xbox console to Android.

In the meantime, Google is also expected to launch Project Stadia next month which could also be worth checking out.
