Following the rumors that Nikon could have a new cheaper mirrorless camera in the works, the company has since officially confirmed it by announcing the Nikon Z50. As expected, this will be part of Nikon’s Z-series of mirrorless cameras and instead of a full-frame mirrorless camera, it will use an APS-C sensor, which we reckon is probably more than sufficient for most photographers, unless you’re a professional or have a need to go full-frame.
In terms of specs, we’re looking at at 20.9MP CMOS sensor with a flip down 3.2-inch display on its back. It can also go up to ISO 51,200 and there will also be a 209-point Hybrid AF System, with shooting speeds of up to 11 fps. 4K video will aos be supported along with 120 fps slow-motion video capture.
As for its price, the Nikon Z50 will be priced at $999.95 which includes a 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens, making it a pretty affordable alternative to the company’s higher-end Z-series cameras.
