If you have followed Apple’s instructions and you still have a working device, then you might want to update your HomePod ASAP. This is because Apple has released a new update for the speakers that bumps it up to version 13.2.1. The changelog is exactly the same as the previous one, but the main difference is that apparently it addresses the bricking problem.
Those with working HomePods should probably update to it where hopefully it will not present an issue. The update should be automatically installed so if you’re unsure, you can check your HomePod’s firmware history and if it is version 13.2.1, then you should be good to go. However, those who have updated and have a bricked HomePod, it seems that there is really nothing you can do except to bring it into an Apple Store where apparently, Apple will be replacing the bricked devices even if they are outside of its warranty.
