With how many of us own smartphones, it would be silly for developers to ignore the mobile gaming market. This is why we’re starting to see a rise in video games that were traditionally for PC or console being released on mobile as well. We’ve also started to see developers create games simultaneously for both mobile and PC and/or console.
Now, for the longest time ever, Riot’s League of Legends has been limited to computer gamers, but if you thought that playing the game while on the go sounds like a fantastic idea, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Riot has since announced that League of Legends will be making its way onto mobile devices in the form of League of Legends: Wild Rift.
However, before you get too excited, know that Wild Rift isn’t just a port of the PC version of the game. It has been built from the ground up where the maps and UI have been designed to accommodate mobile devices and also consoles. It has also been designed in a way to encourage shorter matches. This unfortunately means that PC and mobile gamers won’t be able to play with each other.
Riot would not be the first to bring a MOBA to mobile. Previously we saw titles like Vainglory launch for mobile, and also Mobile Legends which is pretty popular amongst mobile gamers.
