Apple analysts usually predict (or confirm) some of the plans for the upcoming devices along with the sales expectation.
Now, 9to5mac reported that the renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple will unveil the next iPhone SE (i.e SE 2) in the first quarter of 2020.
In addition to the launch, we have some solid information on the phone itself. The new generation of iPhone SE is believed to be inspired by iPhone 8’s design.
In other words, the iPhone SE 2 is expected to rock an iPhone 8’s chassis. It will still be the cheapest offering than the rest of the iPhones available.
However, it is worth noting that the specifications are also going to be as close to an iPhone 8 with the newer A13 chipset and 3 Gigs of RAM.
This also means that it would most likely feature the Touch ID and a 4.7-inch display. Even though we do not have a pricing prediction as of yet – it is expected to be in the range of $349 – $399.
Kuo also hints at the possibility of iPhone 8 being discontinued after the iPhone SE 2 launch.
Apple is not really known to keep multiple products with the same price tag – so it could be a thing.
The Apple analyst predicts a sale of at least 30-40 million units. Now, we can just wait for the Q1 of 2020 to see whether Kuo was right about the iPhone SE 2.
