It might seem a bit late to launch a repair program for a 2015 iPhone, but it seems that some units have started failing where they are unable to power on. According to Apple, the problem stems from a component that might fail, leading to the power issues. However, the company does claim that a limited number of devices are affected, so it’s not all iPhone 6s or 6s Plus units.
According to the company, “Apple has determined that certain iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices may not power on due to a component that may fail. This issue only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between October 2018 to August 2019.”
If you have an affected device, you can head on over to Apple’s website and enter your device’s serial number to see if you are eligible for a free repair. In the meantime, Apple has since launched the iPhone 11 series and might be worth checking out if you decide it’s time to give yourself an upgrade.
