Google published a new video on YouTube demonstrating the ‘Quantum Supremacy’ experiment.
Even though it is theoretically believed that Quantum computers are way ahead of their time, Google claims that its Quantum computer was able to complete a task way faster than any supercomputer would in the Quantum Supremacy experiment.
To give you an idea, a problem which can be solved by a supercomputer in 10,000 years has been solved by the quantum computer in just 3 minutes 20 seconds.

Indeed, that is incredibly fast. While explaining about their new milestone, they also mentioned that a quantum computer differs from the standard computers in the concept of having quantum bits (or qubits) which can store the value 1 or 0 at the same time.
In contrast, a standard computer relies on the concept that one-bit stores either a 1 or 0.

We are quite sure that it will still take a lot of years to be widely used but it is good to know that it can be utilized for scientific purposes soon enough.
In the experiment ‘Quantum Supremacy’ Google seems confident enough with what they have achieved. However, it is totally a different thing when it comes to general consumers. What’s your take on it?
