It would be kind of slow to stop and repair speaker to speaker, and the good news is that Google has come up with an easy way for users to transfer their streams from device to device. According to Google, “Stream transfer is a new feature that lets you easily move music, videos, podcasts and more between compatible devices in your home using your voice, the Google Home app or the touchscreen on your Nest smart display.”
All users need to do to transfer streams from one device to the other using their voice is to say, “Hey Google, move the music to the living room speaker,” or whatever you have categorized your device under. Alternatively, users can just tap the cast button to see all available devices and then choose which one you’d like to transfer the stream to.
Google claims that the feature will support services like YouTube Music, Spotify, and Pandora, just to name a few, along with video from YouTube. The update should be rolling out today for all Chromecast, Google Home, and Nest smart speakers and displays.
