However, in an announcement by Facebook, it seems that the company is looking to test out a dedicated feed just for news. This means that when users want to see purely news related posts, they can go to this dedicated tab to check it out, so they won’t be distracted or miss it if it were to be shown in the main feed.
According to Facebook, “News gives people more control over the stories they see, and the ability to explore a wider range of their news interests, directly within the Facebook app. It also highlights the most relevant national stories of the day. News articles will continue to appear in News Feed as they do today.”
Facebook also notes that this section will only contain news from “legitimate” media sources. This is because Facebook will be putting in strict guidelines on how a publication can appear in this section. This is done to potentially cut down on any fake news that could be shared or appear in your main feed. This feature is currently in limited testing for those living in the US, so if you don’t see it yet, not to worry.
