Now according to additional details by Sensor Tower, it seems that in the first week of it being released, Call of Duty: Mobile has since managed to rack up 100 million downloads. That’s a 500% increase in downloads where last week, we had heard that it managed around 20 million downloads.
According to Sensor Tower’s data, this makes the game about four times more successful compared to other popular shooters, like Epic’s Fortnite Battle Royale and PUBG, both of which achieved 20-25 million downloads in the first week of their availability. However, it is possible that Call of Duty’s reputation and branding is a lot stronger due to them being around longer, which could have helped its initial launch.
That being said, it remains to be seen if Activision will be able to maintain the game’s momentum and translate that into a steady stream of revenue, but for now, it seems to be off to a fantastic start.
