There is without a doubt that Windows is the most popular operating system in the world at the moment. This is also why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that according to a tweet by Microsoft’s Yusuf Mehdi, it has been revealed that Windows 10 is currently installed on 900 million devices around the world.
According to Mehdi, he claims that Microsoft has added more Windows 10 devices over the past 12 months than they have ever before, which makes sense as Mehdi lists devices like the Surface Hub, HoloLens, and even the Xbox as playing a role in helping with the adoption of the Windows operating system.
To make it an even more impressive milestone, Paul Thurrott has estimated that if this growth trend were to continue, there is a good chance that in the first quarter of 2020, there would be 1 billion devices running on Windows 10. This growth seems to be especially fast when you consider the fact that it was only in March that Microsoft hit the 800 million milestone, so for them to hit another 100 million in half a year is truly an impressive feat.
#Windows10 is on more than 900M devices! Thanks to our customers, we added more new Windows 10 devices in the last 12 months than ever before. Windows 10 has been quickly adopted since its release, thanks to the fact that Microsoft made the update free for users coming from earlier builds in the first year.
