It has been a couple of years since Sony and Naughty Dog confirmed that The Last Of Us 2 was in development. Since then, many have been wondering about the game’s release date. Some have predicted that it could be released this year, while others have suggested that it might only come in 2020.
Given how late we are into the year already, it seems like 2020 is more than likely, and sure enough Sony has since confirmed the game’s release for the 21st of February, 2020. In addition to announcing the game’s release date, Sony has also revealed the various versions of the game that gamers will be able to buy.
This includes the Standard Edition, the Special Edition, the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Collector’s Edition, and the Ellie Edition. The last version will be priced at $250 and will also come with a 12-inch statue of Ellie. This is clearly aimed at collectors and fans of the game who wouldn’t mind forking out a bit more cash for a collectible.
A new trailer for the game has also been released in which we get our first look at Joel, who was notably absent in the previous trailers, leading to speculation that he might be dead. Either way, it looks like a fantastic game and we’re sure many can’t wait to get their hands on it.
