DC’s Suicide Squad movie seemed like it was rather promising when it was released back in 2016, but the reviews proved otherwise. This is why we’re sure that many critics are pretty excited that the movie will be rebooted with James Gunn helming it in the director’s chair.
Now in a tweet by Gunn, he has shared what appears to be the cast of the upcoming movie where you might recognize some names that are coming back. This includes Joel Kinnaman who was cast as Rick Flag in the original movie, Jai Courtney who played Captain Boomerang, Margot Robbie who took on the role of Harley Quinn in the original movie, and Viola Davis who played as Amanda Waller in the first movie.
It is unclear if these characters will be reprising their roles which could be a bit confusing as Gunn’s Suicide Squad is said to be a “total reboot”, but we’ll just have to wait and see. There are plenty of big names attached to this movie as well, such as John Cena, Nathan Fillion, and Idris Elba, just to name a few.

However, as Gunn notes in his tweet where he said, “Don’t get too attached”, it suggests that not all these characters might survive. The movie is currently set for a release in 2021 and with Gunn’s success with the Guardians of the Galaxy series, hopefully he will be able to deliver the Suicide Squad we deserve.
