For working professionals who need their cameras to be continuously operating, this can be an issue, but Sony could have a solution to that. According to a report from Sony Alpha Rumors, they have been tipped off by a reliable source who allegedly saw a prototype of the Sony A7S III. From what they were told, this prototype had an interesting feature in which is apparently comes with a cooling vent on the back.
If the report is true, Sony would actually not be the first company to introduce a cooling vent to their cameras. Panasonic had also previously introduced a cooling vent to its Lumix S1H camera, so this isn’t exactly a new concept. This would help the camera’s operations, especially when recording video, which is when cameras can start getting hot.
In addition to the cooling vent, their source also told them that the camera will come with 4K video recording at 120 FPS. Take it with a grain of salt for now as there is no word on when the camera will be announced, although Sony Alpha Rumors speculates it will most likely be in 2020 after the Sony A9III.
