According to a recent report, it has been suggested that 2020’s iPhone could come with a bigger redesign where one of the new design features is a metal band around the edge of the phone, similar to the design of the iPhone 4/4S. However, it seems that the metal band won’t be the only redesign.
In a tweet by Ben Geskin, who has successfully leaked some information in the past, it seems that Apple is prototyping an iPhone with an even larger display than ever. His tweet alleges that the prototype sports a 6.7-inch display and that Apple will finally be ditching the notch. Apparently Face ID will somehow be squeezed into the bezel around the phone which also houses the front-facing camera.
As you can see in the render above, this results in a beautiful looking handset that’s sleek without any breaks in its display. That being said, there’s no guarantee that this phone could be made a reality. Geskin notes that Apple is prototyping the device which means that there is no guarantee that they could actually stick with the design.
We have heard rumors that Apple could be looking to bring back Touch ID and that it could debut as an in-display sensor in the 2020 iPhones. We have also heard that 5G could be coming in 2020, making next year’s iPhone a very compelling upgrade.
