However, it seems that after years of resisting the trend of ditching the headphone jack, Samsung finally went ahead and did it with the Galaxy Note 10, and it seems that maybe they didn’t think that those ads were so funny after all. This is because according to reports, Samsung seems to have either hidden or taken down those ads from its YouTube channel.
Yup, this includes all the ads over the years that mocked the iPhone’s lack of a headphone jack, and how iPhone users had to use dongles to charge their phones and listen to music at the same time. However, this is the internet after all and nothing ever truly stays deleted. That being said, it was only a matter of time before Samsung made the same decision that everyone else seems to have.
This is because by removing the 3.5mm jack, it frees up a bit of space which in turn could allow for additional components, a bigger battery, a slimmer profile, or a lighter device. Tech-wise, using USB-C to transfer audio does have the potential to help it sound better, although to be fair, there are other factors to consider, but it is one of the selling points.
Plus by forcing users to go wireless, Samsung can go ahead and push some of its own audio products like the Galaxy Buds, the company’s answer to Apple’s AirPods.
