This is a full-frame mirrorless camera that comes with a 24MP similar to its predecessor, the Lumix S1. However, there is a difference and that the S1H actually features an anti-aliasing filter that will help reduce moire. There is also in-body image stabilization, meaning that photographer and videographers won’t need to look for specific image-stabilized lens in order to achieve a smooth and steady shot.
According to Panasonic, when used with a Dual IS 2 compatible lens, it will be able to reduce shake by as much as 6.5 stops, which is important in videography unless you want your audiences to throw up. There will also be a built-in 2.33M-dot touchscreen display on the back, a status display on the top plate, and also a fan inside of the camera’s body that will help to prevent the camera from overheating, especially during particularly long shoots.
If this sounds like the camera for you, know that it will not come cheap. The Panasonic Lumix S1H is priced at $4,000 for the body-only and will be launching this September.
