Unfortunately, fans of Minecraft hoping to get their hands on the update, it seems that will no longer be happening. In an announcement made on the Minecraft website, the developers claim that the reason behind the cancellation of the update was due to it being more technically demanding than they had anticipated.
According to the developers, “We realise this is disappointing to some of you – there was a lot of enthusiasm for Super Duper from inside and outside the studio – but unfortunately, we aren’t happy with how the pack performed across devices. For this reason, we’re stopping development on the pack, and looking into other ways for you to experience Minecraft with a new look.”
It is a bit of a bummer as we’re sure that many were no doubt looking forward to the update, but we suppose better it be cancelled rather than Mojang releasing an update that was not up to the standards that players have come to expect.
