It is said that part of the reason behind climate change is due to our desire to eat meat. This is why there have been some companies who are exploring meat alternatives. Now, the idea of veganism or being a vegetarian isn’t new, but for the most part, fake meat has typically tasted bad.
However, companies like Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat have come up with some pretty groundbreaking alternatives that according to those who have tried them, come pretty close in terms of taste, texture, and look. So much so that fried chicken fast food giant KFC wants to get in on the action as well, and have announced that they will be testing out Beyond Meat’s fried “chicken” at one of their outlets in Atlanta.
We should note that if you plan on testing it out, the Beyond Fried Chicken will be cooked in the same fryers as the regular chicken, meaning that if you’re a vegan or vegetarian, then this might not be for you, at least not yet. It will be interesting to see how it will taste and how customers might react to them.
At least based on the photo alone, it definitely does not look like your typical KFC chicken, but we imagine that as long as it tastes good, maybe people can overlook the fact that it is not actually meat that they are eating.
