There are plenty of smartwatches that exist in the market right now, but in case you’re after a smartwatch that has been designed for outdoor use like trekking and hiking, Garmin is probably best known for that where the company’s smartwatches have typically been favored by fitness and outdoor enthusiasts.
If you are looking for such a smartwatch, you’ll be interested to learn that Garmin has announced not just one, but three new smartwatches. This includes the Garmin Fenix 6, 6S, and the 6X {ro Solar. The Fenix 6X Pro Solar will be the flagship model where as its name implies, this watch will be powered using solar energy.
It will not be able to keep the watch running 24/7, but it will be able to extend the device’s 21-battery day life by an additional 3 days, meaning that users get almost a month out of their watch without having to recharge it. Apart from that and also the different sizes, all the Fenix 6 watches will share similar features.
This includes the new PacePro feature that can adapt for elevation changes to keep a runner’s pacing on track. It will also be able to show your target split pace, actual split pace, distance next split, and how much time you have ahead or behind your goal. There will also be the introduction of a new tool called the Power Manager, where it will show you how some of the watch’s features affect the watch’s overall battery life.
The Garmin Fenix 6 and 6S will be priced at $600 each while the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar will retail for $1,150.
