The Nintendo Switch has several controllers designed for it. There are the default Joy-Cons that come with pretty much every console, then there is also the Pro controller for gamers who might want better ergonomics. Then there is also support for the GameCube controllers who gamers who think that it is the best way of playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
However, it seems that we could be getting another controller for the Switch, thanks to a recent FCC filing in which it suggests that Nintendo could actually be working on an SNES-like controller designed for the Switch console. This is thanks to the diagram that accompanied that FCC filing in which it seemed to more or less give us an idea of what to expect.
Unfortunately, details are scarce at this point in time, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon. That being said, we should point out that this isn’t a completely unprecedented move by Nintendo. The company had previously launched retro NES controllers for the Switch, so in a way, seeing Nintendo possibly gear up to launch SNES controllers isn’t entirely out of the question.
Hopefully the SNES controllers, whenever they do launch, will offer up better value compared to the NES controllers, in which some found to be a bit expensive for what they offered.
