When it was announced that Sony and Disney would be working together to bring Spider-Man into the MCU, it was a huge deal. Sony has attempted several Spider-Man movies in the past, but due to the fact that it existed separate to other Marvel movies, it always felt that something was not right.
The partnership has since spawned two very successful movies, with Spider-Man: Far From Home earning over $1 billion. Unfortunately, as you might have heard, that partnership seems o have come to an end, where negotiations between Sony and Disney have broken down, resulting in Spider-Man being taken out of the MCU.
Unsurprisingly, many fans weren’t too happy with this news and according to a posting on Facebook, it looks like some fans have set up on event in which they are planning on “raiding” Sony’s offices in California in protest of what has happened. The “raid” is said to take place on the 31st of October, and so far over 5,000 people have expressed their interest in going.
We’re not sure how serious this raid is (there was a similar plan to raid Area 51), but it doesn’t sound particularly safe, but we’ll have to keep an eye on it. We’re not sure if Spider-Man’s removal from the MCU is a done deal, but hopefully the higher-ups will be able to work something out.
