Following the report, Apple revealed that they had suspended the program and would be reviewing the process. As it turns out, it seems that Apple could be done with the program completely. According to a new report from the Irish Examiner, Apple has apparently terminated the contracts of the outsider contractors who were working in Ireland and were tasked to analyze the Siri recordings.
It is unclear how many workers have been affected, but according to a former contractor, they had to sign non-disclosure agreements which meant that they could not even tell people they worked for Apple. It is also unclear as to whether Apple plans on restarting the program with new contractors.
However, Apple had previously stated that moving forwards, they will be more transparent about Siri recordings, where they will give users the option to opt out of the program if they do not wish to participate in it.
