However, according to a report from WABetaInfo, it seems that WhatsApp could be developing a version of its app for tablets such as Apple’s iPad. In addition to launching on the iPad, they have found some evidence that suggests that WhatsApp could be working on making their service truly multi-platform.
As it stands, WhatsApp can be used on the phone and on the PC, but the PC version does require users to have their phones nearby as it requires a wireless connection to your phone. However, this change means that users will be able to use WhatsApp on multiple devices at once without needing their phones to be nearby, turning it into a true multi-platform app similar to the likes of Messenger, Slack, Discord, and so on.
WABetaInfo claims that WhatsApp had been developing for the iPad for a while now, but they delayed it as they wanted to wait for a true multi-platform approach. There is no word on when these changes will roll out, but it does sound like great news if it’s true.
