For those who do enjoy using the feature, you’ll be pleased to learn that Apple has since issued a new update for watchOS in which the vulnerability will be patched. The update will bump your watchOS up watchOS 3.0, so if you have that update already then you watch is already running the latest version, if not, then you’ll need to update to it.
In addition to the patch that fixes the vulnerability, there is some good news for Apple Watch Series 4 owners in Singapore and Canada. This is because Apple has announced that the update will enable the ECG feature for both countries. The ECG feature is considered to be a medical feature and as such, is subject to approval for use. This is why the feature isn’t available across the world just yet.
However, it is a much-welcome feature, especially when you consider the fact that the ECG feature has been reported to have saved a couple of lives since its debut.
