Netflix has ever so slowly begun to pull back the curtain on the performance of its original content. The company has always guarded the viewership numbers of its content very closely. Not long after the company revealed that its Murder Mystery movie racked up a record 30.9 million views, it has now revealed that Stranger Things 3 has been viewed by over 40 million accounts so far.
Stranger Things 3 has proven to be a wonderful hit for Netflix. There was a lot of anticipation for the third season of the series and it appears to have been very well received. Netflix has now revealed that 40.7 million accounts have watched Stranger Things 3 in four days since all episodes were put up for streaming on July 4th.
To put that in perspective, it took Umbrella Academy around a month to hit 45 million account views, and it was one of the better hits from Netflix in recent years. Stranger Things 3 has absolutely smashed that record.
This makes Stranger Things 3 the most-viewed show of any kind on Netflix in the same time frame. No other Netflix film or series has been watched by this many accounts in its first four days. Netflix also pointed out that 18.2 million accounts have already finished the entire season, which is hardly surprising.
