Usually companies prefer to keep their products a secret until it is ready for an announcement. However, as we have seen in this industry, leaks seem to be rather frequent and as such, we usually get some clues as to what to expect ahead of the announcement, even if we can never be 100% sure they are the real thing.
However, Google did something different this year when they shared official renders of the upcoming Pixel 4 ahead of its official launch, thus confirming what the phone will look like. If you are curious as to how it might look in real life, then you’ll be pleased to learn that 9to5Google reader Luis spotted the handset being used in real life aboard the London Underground.
From what we can tell, the handset in question seems to be in a protective case, which presumably is being used to hide its identity. However, it’s hard to ignore the somewhat distinctive camera design on the back of the phone. This is in line with what Google shared in its official renders, where the Pixel 4’s camera module is shaped like a square on the back of the phone.
The handset is expected to sport a dual camera design, a first for a Pixel smartphone. There is no word on when the phone will be launched, but a leaked Verizon roadmap suggested that the phone could be coming mid-October.
