It has been teased for a few months now that new “Super” GTX GPUs will be announced by NVIDIA in the not too distant future. That’s precisely what the company has done today. Super is its new line of faster Turing-based GPUs. The Super-branded GeForce RTX 2080, RTX 2080, and RTX 2060 make up the new series.
According to NVIDIA, you will get up to 25 percent faster performance with these new GPUs compared to the original RTX 20 series. They have more cores and higher clock speeds with Ray Tracing support, something that will catch the attention of many PC gamers.
It’s important to note that the new Super series of GPUs from NVIDIA provides a modest improvement in performance while keeping the same price point as that of the existing RTX series which was released last fall.
At $399, the RTX 2060 Super is 22 percent faster than its predecessor with 8GB GDDR6 memory, that’s 2GB more than the RTX 2060. The $499 RTX 2070 Super is up to 24 percent faster than the RTX 2070 for the same price.
Both of these GPUs will be available on July 9th. NVIDIA also has the $699 RTX 2080 Super which offers more performance than its predecessor and an enhanced memory speed of up to 15.5Gbps. It becomes available July 23rd. They feature real-time ray tracing with support for other advanced gaming features like NVIDIA Adaptive Shading, Mesh Shading, Variable Rate Shading and NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling
