The Google Assistant is already available on a wide variety of devices and it can help you get a lot of stuff done with just your voice commands. Add surfing through the list of TV shows or movies to that as well. The Google Assistant is now available on the Dish Hopper family of receivers. It will enable users to find their content faster using nothing but voice commands.
The Google Assistant can be accessed on the Hopper receivers through the new Dish voice remote. With this remote and Assistant, users will be able to use voice commands to search for content based on title, channel, actor or genre. They’ll also be able to access all of the Assistant’s other functionalities.
It can even be used to control content playback on the receiver. Simply press the mic button on the voice remote and give it commands like “Change the channel to Food Network,” or “Turn on closed captions.” Since Assistant’s other functionalities are here as well, the voice remote can even be used to control some home devices like lights and thermostats.
Google Assistant is now available for Dish customers with a voice remote and a broadband-connected Hopper. It’s available for all generations of the Hopper and all models of the Joey as well as the Wally once the software update is installed.
