The Coalition had said that it will talk more about the Versus Multiplayer Technical Test for Gears 5 in July and it’s now out with more information about it. It has previously offered a look at the game’s cooperative Escape mode and this will be a good opportunity for players to see how it performs in competitive gameplay. The technical test is going to be run for two weekends, July 19th-July 21st and July 26th-July 29th. It will be possible to download it starting July 17th on Windows 10 PC and Xbox One.

During these weekend tests, players will be able to try out Escalation, which is the updated competitive game type, as well as Arcade and King of the Hill. The Bootcamp training mode has been added for players that are new to Gears or those who just want to improve their skills a bit more.

This test also features a short Tour of Duty. It’s a series of challenges for players which lets them earn content by completing challenges to unlock an exclusive banner. They can also unlock three Versus Weapon Skins by completing additional challenges

Not everyone will be able to play the game during these weekend tests, though. It’s open to those who have either pre-ordered Gears 5 already or have a subscription to the Xbox Game Pass.
