The last X100 camera released by the company was the Fujifilm X100F, although we have heard rumors that its successor is in the works and could be launched in 2020. Now according to a report from Fuji Rumors, they claim that that the successor will be known as the Fujifilm X100V.
This is a change in the naming scheme used by Fujifilm in the past. For those unfamiliar, the X100 series consists of the X100, the X100S, the X100T, and the X100F. The letter in the model numbers stand for “second”, “third”, and “fourth”, so it is interesting to see Fujifilm shake it up by opting to go with Roman numerals instead.
There is no word on what kind of specs the X100V could be packing, but so far many do seem to like the camera as it is, so it’s hard to imagine how much Fujifilm could change the camera. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see so check back with us later for more updates.
