Huawei is one of the few Android OEMs that have unveiled 5G smartphones this year. The company will now be releasing its first 5G smartphone next month. The Huawei Mate 20 X has already made its debut in the United Kingdom and it will now be going on sale in the company’s home country of China.

Huawei actually unveiled another 5G smartphone earlier this year, the Mate X. It was the company’s first foldable smartphone which was initially due to be released over the summer. However, Huawei decided to delay the launch of the device in order to make some improvements to the overall durability.

Chinese carriers have already been granted licenses to fire up their commercial 5G networks, the infrastructure for which has largely been provided by Huawei itself. The company will now begin to sell its 5G smartphones in its home country as 5G networks gradually come online.

Huawei has started taking pre-orders for the Mate 20 X in China. It’s expected to begin shipping the device on August 16. It goes without saying that the company will definitely be bringing its future 5G smartphones, foldable devices included, to China as 5G adoption picks up in the world’s most lucrative smartphone market.
