Duolingo And Twitch Team Up To Let Streamers Teach Viewers A New Language

Twitch is primarily viewed as a streaming platform where people can livestream their gaming sessions. However, we have seen how it can also be used for other things that are not necessarily gaming related. If you are interested in learning a new language, then perhaps Twitch could be a new place to check out.

This is because thanks to a partnership between Duolingo and Twitch, they will be launching a Duolingo Verified Streamer Program. This means that Twitch streamers will be able to create streams in which they will teach viewers a new language. This is useful compared to more static lessons like pre-recorded videos, books, or audio tapes.

This is because while streaming, you’ll be able to interact with your “teacher” and get feedback and help as you go along. It will also be more conversational which could be handy if you want to travel to a new country and want to learn a couple of phrases to help you get by. The initial languages available will be English, French, Arabic, Chinese and Spanish, but there are plans to eventually expand to cover more languages in the future.

Not all streamers can take part and only about 12 participants have been named so far, but just like the languages, we imagine that more will be added in the future.
