It has been announced that starting from the 20th of August, 2019, FX Plus will no longer be available. It was previously launched under Comcast where it gave users access to a bunch of shows under the FX banner ad-free for just $5.99 a month. Current seasons of these shows are still expected to continue to air on FX and FXX.
In a statement made by FX Networks, “We deeply appreciate every fan of FX original series who subscribed to our service, and we are more optimistic and excited than ever about FX’s future as a key brand supporting the strategic priorities of The Walt Disney Company.” Disney is expected to eventually distribute FX programming through Hulu, which is why they are shutting the service down.
The good news is that for those who don’t live in the US and want access to these shows, Disney had previously stated that they plan on bringing Hulu to international markets. When exactly that will be remains to be seen.
