Variety reports that Carpool Karaoke has been renewed by Apple for a third season.
Production for the new season is reportedly underway already and is likely going to include an episode with the cast of Stranger Things, Netflix’s hit show. It’s not confirmed as yet how many episodes will be included in the new season but it might be around the same as the previous seasons. Season 1 and 2 had 21 and 20 episodes, respectively.
Carpool Karaoke might have been its first foray into original programming but the company’s ambitions have considerably increased since then. It’s expected to spend around $2 billion on original shows this year. It has inked deals with the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg for original content. The Carpool Karaoke series first premiered in August 2017 and is now available from the Apple TV app. Fans will certainly be excited for the upcoming season.
