Black Shark 2 Pro Gaming Smartphone Launched

Some of you might recall that back in 2018, Xiaomi decided to jump on board the gaming smartphone bandwagon by launching the Black Shark. They then followed up with the Black Shark 2 earlier this year, and now it looks like they are back again with an upgraded model in the form of the Black Shark 2 Pro.

What’s interesting about the Black Shark 2 Pro are its specs, where following the launch of the ASUS ROG Phone 2, the Black Shark 2 Pro will be the second smartphone to launch with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset in tow. We’re also looking at a 6.39-inch display, 12GB of RAM, and a 48MP + 12MP dual camera combo on the back, and a 20MP front-facing shooter.

Given that this is a gaming smartphone, the Black Shark 2 Pro will also come with features such as the company’s proprietary Liquid Cool 3.0+ technology and DC Dimming 2.0 support. There will also be a 4,000mAh battery accompanying it with support for 27W fast charging, an in-display fingerprint sensor, but unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be support for 5G.

The phone will be launching in China where it will be priced starting at 2,999 yuan which is roughly $435 after conversion. There is no word on whether or not we’ll be seeing it stateside.
