This means that students will now be able to enjoy a free 6-month subscription which is actually a pretty damn long time if you think about it. Following that, students will be required to continue paying for the service, albeit at a discounted rate of $4.99 a month which is about half of what Apple requires “normal” users to pay.
Unfortunately, this new trial is only applicable for new subscribers. If you have yet to sign up for an Apple Music subscription, all you’ll need is an active student email and you will also need to sign up for it through UNiDAYS. For those who have already subscribed or have already used their free trial, it seems that you’re out of luck, although if you’re still a student you can still take advantage of the $4.99 monthly subscription.
Apple Music is currently doing pretty well for itself where back in June, Apple had confirmed that the music streaming service was now home to at least 60 million subscribers.
