If you were skeptical about its abilities, especially given that it’s a MacBook Pro, then you’ll be pleased to learn that it is actually more than capable of getting the job done. This is thanks to Geekbench benchmarks which shows that it is pretty powerful. It managed to score an average of 4,639 on the single-core benchmarks, and 16,665 on the multi-core score.
This is versus the 2017 base 13-inch MacBook Pro before it got replaced in which it scored 4,341 for single-core and 9,084 for multi-core. Granted, it is still not quite as powerful compared to the 15-inch models, but if you’re looking to save some money on the laptop but still need some power, then this could be worth taking a look at.
That being said, benchmarks don’t necessarily reflect real world usage, but for the most part, it does seem to be considerably more powerful than its predecessor, so there’s that.
