Dishwashing is another example of a mundane and repetitive task, but it is a necessity in a kitchen where pots and pans need to be cleaned, along with dishes, cups, bowls, and so on. However, a company by the name of Dishcraft thinks that they can make the entire process faster and more efficient.
The company has recently taken the wraps off a new robot dishwasher that can help to clean large volumes of plates in commercial kitchens. All that needs to be done is to have the plates stacked on a special cart which is then wheeled into the kitchen to the robot. From there, the robot will be able to pick those plates up, turn them upside down, and will use hot and cold water and a brush to help clean the surface of these plates.
One of the differences between this system and a regular dishwasher is that it will rely on the use of AI-guided cameras which can “inspect” the plates to see if they might need another scrub. While there is no doubt that this method is more efficient, it does spell bad news for people seeking employment where dishwashing is usually seen as an entry-level position which does not really require prior experience.
