The Pokemon franchise makes perfect sense as a mobile game and if you are looking forward to playing more Pokemon games on your phone, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Pokemon Masters has been announced for a release this coming summer. However, this game will be slightly different in that it seems to be focusing more on the social aspects of the game.
In previous Pokemon games, it involved players collecting Pokemon and battling against other trainers. While those aspects will still be part of Pokemon Masters, it will try to foster more social gameplay by getting players to team up with other trainers and battling it out in teams against other teams.
These trainers will be based on trainers from previous series, with each trainer paired with their own Pokemon. According to Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara, “The idea was to create a gameplay experience where you could befriend not only pokemon, but trainers.” The game is expected to take place in a new region called Pasio.
It sounds like quite a big departure from what players are used to, but at the same time, it also sounds rather refreshing. You can check out the trailer above to get an idea of what you might be able to expect.
