Do you like buying products that come with Alexa built-in? Here’s another one for you. SGW Global, the company that makes Motorola-branded home phones for the global market, has today announced the first home telephone with Alexa built-in. It’s as easy to use Alexa on the new Motorola AX as it is on any other compatible smart home device.
To use Alexa on the home phone, just tap on the dedicated button and ask the assistant to call a contact by name, such as “Alexa, call Mom.” Alexa will do that using the existing home telephone service and call the person on their mobile or landline phone. Alexa can also be used to place calls to Echo devices if you want to reach someone on their Echo smart speaker instead.
Amazon’s smart assistant can do much more than just place calls for you from the home phone. It offers all of Alexa’s functionality that you’d expect on any other device. Thousands of skills can be accessed for tasks like controlling other smart home devices, checking up on the news, keeping tabs on your favorite sports teams, and more.
