The first Matrix movie was kind of revolutionary and many have had a fond memory of it. Its sequels are still up for debate, with some feeling that the sequels kind of lost the magic that made the first movie great, while others seem to enjoy the trilogy as a whole. For fans of the franchise, the good news is that we could be getting a new Matrix movie.
This is according to a report from Geeks WorldWide who claim to have heard that a new Matrix movie could be in the works starring none other than Michael B. Jordan, who is probably best known for his roles in movies such as Creed and also Black Panther. The publication claims that they cannot confirm if this is true, but we should note that this is not the first time we’re hearing rumors about a new movie.
Back in 2017, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that Warner Bros. was looking to relaunch the franchise, but whether or not this movie will be a reboot of the series or if it will be a sequel or continuation of sort remains to be seen. However, it has been suggested that Lana Wachowski (one half of the Wachowski siblings who directed the original movies) could be returning to direct it.
Take it with a grain of salt for now but here’s hoping that this new Matrix movie will be able to do its predecessors justice.
