In the upcoming iOS 13 update, it seems that users will be able to share audio with each other. We don’t mean that you will share a link to a song, but rather, if you have a pair of compatible headphones, you can actually share that audio with that device, meaning that you and your friend can listen to the song at the same time on separate headphones.
Unfortunately, this feature seems to be only limited to specific headphones, or rather, Apple-made headphones. This includes the AirPods (first-gen or later) and the newly-launched Powerbeats Pro. It will also only be compatible with the iPhone 8 or newer, the third-gen iPad Air, the 5th-gen iPad mini, the 7th-gen iPod Touch, and the second-gen 12.9-inch iPad Pro or later.
The upside to this feature is that each user will be able to control the volume of their headphones independently. iOS 13 is currently in beta and is expected to be released towards the later part of the year.
