Hasbro Launches A New Voice-Controlled Version Of Monopoly

Back in the day, board games were pretty straightforward and “low tech”, where you would roll some dice, play with pieces of paper, and so on. For the most part, a lot of board games are still built that way, but it seems that Hasbro is experimenting with more hi-tech board games and has recently unveiled a voice-controlled version of its popular Monopoly game.

Dubbed the Monopoly Voice Banking Electronic Family Board Game, this is as its name suggests where it will come with a gadget that can recognize voice. This means that instead of players having to keep track of their cash and their properties. This also means that players who might secretly try to steal cash from the bank will no longer be able to do so.

The voice-controlled assistant will also be able to track Chance and Community Chest cards, which means that the only thing that players need to do is roll their dice and move their pieces. We’re not sure how accurate or reliable the voice assistant is. After all, bigger companies like Apple, Google, and Amazon have tried and while it is somewhat successful, there are still plenty of instances where users have had to repeat themselves.

We imagine that this will be troublesome and annoying if players need to constantly repeat their requests, but if you are interested, you can pre-order the game via Walmart for $30.
