If you’ve ever been online over the past few years, it’s hard to imagine that you may not have heard about Frozen. This animated film from Disney was a blockbuster in the true sense of the word. As you’d expect, there’s going to be a sequel, and Disney has now dropped an official trailer for Frozen 2.
Much like the first teaser trailer, the new Frozen 2 trailer doesn’t provide a whole lot of context about what’s going to happen in this new movie. That’s with good reason since Disney wants to capitalize on the popularity of the original film to drive viewership for the sequel.
What the trailer does suggest is a darker tone for the movie compared to its predecessor. Even though Frozen 2 will most certainly have songs, none are highlighted in the trailer. The troll character Grand Pabbie suggests that dark times are ahead for Elsa’s kingdom and the hope is now that her powers are enough to save them all.
We’ll most likely be seeing Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf travel “north across the enchanted lands” in order to save Arendelle from an unknown threat. We may also get to find out more about the origins of Elsa’s abilities. Frozen 2 is set to hit theaters on November 22nd this year.
