During a recent interview with Jim Cramer on CNBC’s Mad Money, Dexcom’s CEO teased an upcoming partnership with Apple. For those who are unfamiliar, Dexcom is a company who specializes in creating glucose trackers, and one of their upcoming products includes an upgraded G6 diabetes system that will be getting a direct-to-Apple Watch version.
During the interview, the company’s CEO Kevin Sayer was quoted as saying, “It’s coming. And this tool is great for people with diabetes.” Exactly what kind of integration we could be looking at remains to be seen, but until Apple actually builds the feature into the Apple Watch itself, this could be a worthy alternative for diabetics.
Dexom’s G6 already works with the Apple Watch through a transmitter, but this interview seems to suggest that a future version could offer native watchOS integration with perhaps more enhanced tools for tracking the user’s glucose levels.
