Amazon has been working hard to make one-day delivery the standard for Prime members and the company is quickly increasing the number of products that are eligible for one-day delivery. It has now reached an important milestone in the pursuit of this aim. Amazon says that one-day delivery is now available to members on more than 10 million products with no minimum purchase requirement. The service is available to those who are members of its Prime program.
Amazon confirmed today that Prime members can get one-day delivery on more than 10 million products coast to coast. The wide variety of products include sunscreen, birthday presents, beach towels, and more.
The company has made one-day delivery possible because its delivery network has matured considerably over the past twenty years. Amazon has 110 fulfillment centers in the United States in addition to 40 package sortation centers, 100 delivery stations, and 20 air gateways. This massive network enables the company to ensure that products can be delivered to customers the very next day.
Amazon mentions that the most popular one-day items are books, beauty products, dish detergent, and even doggie bags. It points out that Prime Free One Day is now already ten times larger than the original two-day shipping service that Amazon first launched back in 2005.
