Google talked a lot about Android Q at its I/O 2019 developers conference this week. The company has rolled out beta 3 of the upcoming iteration as well for almost two dozen devices from different manufacturers. Huawei is one of them and the Chinese company has also revealed the 8 devices which it will release Android Q for initially.
The list of devices that Huawei will release Android Q for first was posted on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter. It includes the Honor View 20/V20, Honor Magic 2, Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, the Mate 20X and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design in addition to the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro.
What Huawei hasn’t revealed at this point in time what changes it will be introducing with EMUI that ships with Android Q. The company does introduce significant new features with major iterations of EMUI so the same can be expected for the upcoming version as well.
It’s going to be a few months before these Huawei handsets get Android Q, though. Even Google won’t be releasing it for its Pixel devices for at least a few months. It’s only after that the company’s OEM partners will begin rolling out the Android Q update to their compatible devices.
