When the Sonic the Hedgehog movie’s poster was first revealed, many expressed disappointment with how the character looked, especially since it looked nothing like what many gamers were familiar with. This was made worse when the trailer was released, confirming that the look was indeed real.
This resulted in a pouring outcry from fans who demanded a change in its design, where the movie’s director Jeff Fowler acknowledged and agreed. Unfortunately, it seems that if you were hoping to see the movie anytime soon, you might be disappointed to learn that the movie has since been delayed to 2020.
The movie, which was previously scheduled for a release in November, 2019, has since been delayed by a couple more months where it will now be released on the 14th of February, 2020. We suppose this is a bit disappointment for some, but at the same time, we’d rather the studios delay the movie to get things right rather than hastily release a movie that does badly.

With video game movies rarely doing well, we suppose it is in the studio’s best interest to make sure that they get it right and release a movie that fans will enjoy. There is no word on what the redesign could look like, but hopefully we’ll have more details in the coming months.
